How has your life changed due to the coronavirus? What were your future plans that got postponed due to it?
The virus has affected almost everyone in one or the other way.
Some lost their job, some graduated on Zoom call, and some others married on WhatsApp.
For me, the daily routine is almost the same, as I am a freelance writer and I work from home most days. But there were things that I had planned…
So right before lockdown, I was planning a trip. First to Udaipur, then to Uttarakhand. I didn’t really check where I would stay and all, but I wanted to leave my hometown and didn’t feel like going back to the new place I rented in Ahmedabad.
So a night before I go down with fever and thus was saved from being locked out of home, I sat with my parents and told them this;
“I can’t settle. Not at one place. You might find my decisions rash but Papa, had it been you at my place, you’d have done the same. I know I got this attitude from you.”
And though Ma was torn visibly, she seemed to be happy with my decision of living on my terms.
The next morning, waking up to leave home at 6:00 AM, I couldn’t, because I was so so down with fever.
And there it went, just after 2 days of this incident, Government declared lockdown. Had I left, I would have been OUT and the agony of my parents would have been immeasurable.
But there are bright sides too!
Not settling is not limited to a place, it also implies to what we think.
So, during the lockdown, I planned several campaigns on my Instagram page to help people through art during these hard times. I made my YouTube Channel on which I will be sharing bit-sized videos for content writing/freelancing, my musing recitations and whistles.
